In the first meeting, expect a friendly dialogue and plenty of time for questions and answers. We learn what you’re looking for and walk you through what we do and how we do it. It’s an interactive conversation – no decisions are required at this meeting. Think of it as a mutual interview. You evaluate us and what we offer, and we evaluate whether our services are the right fit based on your goals and circumstances.
FAQs
Common questions, straight answers.
We know you probably have questions. That’s why we have the answers that just make sense.
Getting Started
If you’ve been thinking about retirement, that preparation is enough. We guide you through topics such as what motivated you to reach out to us now, your goals and desired retirement date, your experiences with previous financial professionals, your expectations of working with a financial advisor, and a description of what success looks like if we do work together. We also have your Pre-Meeting Questions from your initial inquiry, which help us tailor additional questions to your circumstances.
We typically follow up by email within 24 business hours of receiving your inquiry. Please check your junk or spam folder for anything from Sensible Money. If it’s a weekend or holiday inquiry, it may take us an additional day or two to reply. We may also call to let you know we’ve responded. If you don’t hear from us, please email us at info@sensiblemoney.com or call us at 480-719-7290.
While we serve many Arizona clients, we have clients in over 40 states. Most of our clients, even local ones, prefer to meet via web-based technology, but we are always happy to meet face-to-face for locals or those visiting! And while our main office is in Scottsdale, we have both planning and support staff in other states.
We don’t think it’s ever too early to start planning a great retirement! While we wish everyone would reach out to us about ten years before their desired retirement, we hear from people at all stages. Some are already retired, or it may be a few months or years away. Others are facing a severance offer and need guidance. And some aren’t sure when retirement may be possible – and our job is to help figure that out.
Planning Together
The Juicing Experience is our primary service offering, encompassing a detailed cash flow plan updated each year, investment management aligned with projected cash flows, and ongoing, responsive advice on anything related to you and your money. Outside of traditional retirement income advice, we offer guidance on mortgage and refinance options, helping adult children with home purchases, navigating finances for an aging parent, funding grandchildren’s college, and much more.
Of course, we also cover tax planning for retirement, Roth conversion strategies, tax withholding setup, reverse mortgages, annuities, pension claiming analysis, Social Security claiming advice, guidance on transitioning to Medicare, and just about any retirement-related topic you can think of.
With The Juicing Experience, we are here when you need us, guiding you through whatever topics arise.
We primarily work with clients who need both financial planning and investment management and want to work with a trusted partner on an ongoing basis.
On occasion, we have situations that warrant an investment management-only relationship – such as for a related entity or family member.
And, as capacity allows, we may take on planning-only clients, subject to financial planner availability.
Our services begin with a $1,200 deposit. Most clients work with us on an ongoing basis with asset-based investment management pricing.
Investment management services are structured as a percentage of assets. Rates begin at 1.25% on the first $1M and decrease as asset size increases. Complete pricing details are covered in our ADV Part 2A and discussed during our introductory meeting.
We are available when you need us. While we have set touchpoints throughout the year, such as annual reviews, tax reviews, tax projections, and cash flow management monitoring, our clients are encouraged to email or call any time. We routinely set up additional meetings to cover topics that arise throughout the years. We find we may have many meetings around key decision points, such as retirement or buying a home, and meet less frequently in years with no major changes on the horizon.
Most of the time, you work with the financial planner who conducted your Introductory Meeting, along with their support team. However, on occasion, a planner may refer you to another team member if they feel their expertise would be a better match for your circumstances. Behind the scenes, planners collaborate on case studies and best practices, so we may bring our collective experience to the table to help one another and our clients.
As you consider our services, please keep in touch as to what you are thinking. While many firms market retirement planning as a service, very few firms do what we do with the level of detail, customization, and care that we apply. We value the long-term relationships we develop with our clients, and our client surveys and Google reviews reflect exactly what we hope all our clients continue to experience.
